Why Americans are more Religious than Europeans?

While I agree with others that the dynamics of European and American faith are changing rapidly, I think that immigration to the US for the purpose of religious freedom as well as the atheism of the Soviet bloc countries are probably the two largest contributing factors to the disparity of which you refer.
